Postgraduate Scholarships

Postgraduate Research Scholarships 

Faculty of Science and Engineering Research Awards (FSERA) - Mid Year Round  

The Faculty of Science and Engineering has available a number of postgraduate research scholarships for students who will commence in Semester 2 2009, a Masters degree by research or Doctorate by research in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. Applications close 30 June 2009.

Flinders University Thesis Write-Up Stipends, Round 2

To assist non-scholarship research higher degree students to write-up and submit their thesis. Applications close 31 July 2009. 

Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (EIPRS)

These scholarships enable suitably qualified overseas applicants to commence a full-time research higher degree at Flinders University. Applications close 31 August 2009. 

School of Biological Sciences International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (BSIPRS)

The scholarship enables a suitably qualified overseas applicant to commence a full-time research higher degree in the School of Biological Sciences at Flinders University. Applications close 31 August 2009.

Research Scholarships

Applications are invited for the following research scholarships tenable at Flinders University in 2009:

Australian Seafood CRC: Characterisation of selected fish processing co-products and development of novel integrated bioprocesses for value-added food and non-food bioproducts    Closing date: 30 June 2009.
Australian Seafood CRC: Processing of Sea Cucumber viscera for bioactive compounds   Closing date: 30 June 2009.
Microalgal strain optimization for lipids and bioactives    Closing date: 22 June 2009.
Porous silicon based explosives: Investigation of the influence of dopant (level), pore characteristics and oxidant   Closing date: 30 June 2009.

Rhodes Scholarships

Applications are currently being accepted for Rhodes Scholarships to study at the University of Oxford in 2010. Applications close 1 September 2009.

NHMRC Scholarships

Applications for NHMRC Postgraduate Research Scholarships must be submitted to the Higher Degree Administration and Scholarships Office by 17 July 2009:

Australian Leadership Awards

ALA Scholarships are offered to high achievers from the Asia-Pacific region each year to undertake postgraduate study (Masters or Doctorate) and a Leadership Development Program in Australia.

Endeavour Awards

The Endeavour Awards is the Australian Government’s internationally competitive, merit-based scholarship program providing opportunities for citizens of the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Europe and the Americas to undertake study, research and professional development in Australia. Awards are also available for Australians to do the same abroad.

Information on scholarships and other forms of financial assistance can be obtained from the Higher Degree Administration and Scholarships Office located in the Registry Annexe (opposite the Student Centre). The office maintains a database of scholarship schemes.

Information on scholarships offered for postgraduate study by a broad range of institutions and organisations can also be found at the JASON website or at the DEEWR website.

Information on other scholarship schemes available for undergraduate and postgraduate study within Australia (including NH&MRC, CSIRO, government agencies and private foundations) and overseas (mainly Commonwealth countries schemes such as the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan, Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and Rhodes Scholarships; and the more prestigious of the USA schemes such as Harkness Fellowships, Harvard University, Fulbright and Menzies Scholarships) is available from the Higher Degree Administration and Scholarships Office.
