Who's teaching science in South Australia?
28 August 2009 Research report detailing the findings of the survey of over 600 teachers in South Australia. The report highlights the extent to which the science teaching workforce is formally qualified to teach the subjects they are being asked to teach, and raises issues for the future.
Engaging students in STEM-related subjects. What does the research evidence say?
In June 2009 Science21 produced a review of the research evidence about the factors which influence young people's decision making regarding their education in STEM-related subjects and the identified "levers for change".
Making Science and Maths Meaningful
In 2009 Science21 is continuing to work on the School to Work Mathematics and Science Program for the SACE Board of South Australia. 15 schools will be working in clusters to forge links between schools and to industry, universities, TAFE and others to "bring to life maths and science for students and helping them see the varied career opportunities on offer."
Briefings - access to the evidence
As well as providing links to pertinent reports and publications from around the world the Science21 team will produce briefings and opinion pieces to help provide access to the evidence-base for all decision-makers in science education.
