Udall Professor of Law and Public Policy in the Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona.

A recipient of two National Science Foundation grants, he serves as Water Policy Advisor to Pima County, Arizona; as a member of American Rivers’ Science and Technical Advisory Committee; and as a commentator and analyst for various television and radio programs. He is also a Huffington Post blogger.

Based on his book, Unquenchable: America’s Water Crisis and What To Do About It, Robert Glennon will present on the state of water in America, revealing the heady extravagances and everyday waste that he believes are sucking the United States dry. From the Vegas Strip to faux snow in Atlanta, from American supersized bathrooms to mega-farms, from billion-dollar water deals to big time politics and personalities, Glennon will present on the tragedy – and irony - of water in America and what can be done about it.

Glennon argues that America cannot engineer its way out of the problem with the usual fixes or the zany—but very real—schemes to tow icebergs from Alaska or divert the Mississippi River to Nevada. America must make hard choices—and Glennon's answer is a provocative market-based system that values water as a commodity and a fundamental human right.

RSVP online at www.groundwater.com.au/events

Failed to render:xml=http://www.flinders.edu.au/events/feed/department/show?department=School+of+Biological+Sciences|5|100|100
