The Honours year is a different and exciting experience for most students. As well as continuing to acquire and understand existing knowledge they are working at the coalface experiencing the joys and heartaches of discovering new scientific phenomena and exploring new theoretical explanations. They also gain experience in designing experiments to test existing theories and new hypotheses. The wider scope that this gives to a student's view of science and problem solving is invaluable.
