Students in most undergraduate courses offered by the School of Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics can undertake an industry-oriented practicum as part of their studies. The School's industry based engineering practicums have long been regarded as national best-practice and from 2011 were extended to cover more of our awards. The options available are:

In all practicums, students work under the guidance of both an industry and an academic supervisor to solve real projects.  There is also study at Flinders in relevant areas to reinforce the learning experience.

Although the majority of students undertake their practicum in Semester 2, the practicums may be undertaken in either Semester 1 or Semester 2. For engineering students, the practicum fulfills the work experience requirement for professional accreditation.
