Geographical Information Systems

Geographical Information Systems/Geospatial Information Science

  • The postgraduate suite of GIS courses provide a theoretical and practical framework for students from a range of undergraduate backgrounds, as well as those from the public sector and non-government organizations, seeking to extend career choices by acquiring knowledge and skills in the capture, analysis and communication of spatially referenced information. Enrolments are growing in this area as industry demand for occupations utilising GIS skills is expected to grow an average of 8.5% according to DEEWR. Full details






Environmental Health

  • The Graduate Diploma in Environmental Health Practice is professionally accredited by Environmental Health Australia, which allows students to be gazetted to use public health legislation across Australia and to practice as Environmental Health Officers. It is the premier degree in Australia in this area, and is delivered online.

    The Master in Environmental Health primarily aims to develop the project management skills of practicing Environmental Health Officers. It is delivered online. It is supported by industry, mainly through the research projects linked to environmental health issues identified by local government. Each project has a university and workplace supervisor, and represents a creative approach to undertaking world-class research while being academically supervised by distance.   • The School of the Environment provides the most comprehensive postgraduate program in groundwater hydrology in Australia. The degrees can be taken online as well as on campus, many students already work in industry or for government and enrol to extend their skill sets.
