Students will have the opportunity to learn about clean technology –improving current chemical processes to reduce production of harmful by-products; nanotechnology – cutting edge solar panel research; engineering – economically sustainable and environmentally friendly manufacturing; and environment – our environmental future and what we need to do to protect the world around us.

This year we are running an App Development Challenge. Working in teams of 2-3, students will use MIT App Inventor 2 to create their own 'serious game'. Students will be provided with a short tutorial to teach them the basics of using this software, so no prior knowledge is needed
|Chemical Murder Mystery||25 and 30 June||Year 10 Students||This extremely popular event introduces students to the real world of Forensic Crime Scene Investigation. The day encompasses hands on forensic science workshops, problem solving activities and presentations with the aim to engage student interest in science and secondly, to have fun!! Cost: $15 per student, includes catered lunch|

|Making waves through science event||16 September||Year 10 & 11 students||To celebrate ‘International Year of the Light and Light-based Technologies’ join us for a day filled with ‘waves’ in science! Light, sound, and even water waves! Hear from University researchers and get hands-on in the lab. From lasers, electronics and robotic sensors, to marine biology and aquaculture, see how waves impact the world around us!|

|Gifted and Talented Children's Association of South Australia (GTCASA)||

|Year 8, 9 and 10 students||The Youth Workshops are an annual workshop for gifted students in years 8, 9 and 10. They run over three days and include a variety of topics to choose from.
All South Australian secondary schools are invited to nominate students for these courses.
