Staff are reminded that the last day of business will be Wednesday 24th December. The University will re-open on Monday 5th January. The tradition of closing for business at 1.00 pm on the 24th will continue. The public holidays that will be observed during this period are: Christmas Day (25th), Proclamation Day (26th), APS Public Holiday (29th) and New Year Day (1st). The following days will count as annual recreation leave: 30th, 31st December and 2nd January.
Flinders Analytical Christmas Closure
Flinders Analytical will be closed from Monday the 22nd of December 2014 and re-open for the analysis of samples on Tuesday the 13th of January 2015.
The Flinders Analytical technical staff (Daniel and Jason) will be on leave during this period and the instrumentation will be turned off.
If there are exceptional circumstances whereby the closure period will impact you then please consult with Daniel in person to explore the possibility of alternative access arrangements.

Farewell to Margaret Rafferty
On Thursday 17th December we bid a fond farewell to our valued staff member Margaret Rafferty, who has retired from the University. We extend our warmest thanks for her hard work and contribution to the Faculty and in particular our Research Administration and wish her and her Husband Pat all the very best for a long, healthy and happy retirement.
Bupa Pedometer Challenge Winners
A big congratulations to the Faculty Office’s Team Sci who were the winners of the University’s Bupa Pedometer Challenge. There were 22 teams that participated in the challenge and the participants of the winning team were: Samantha Hammer (team captain), Natalie Anderson, Michelle Berrigan, Rachele Draper, Melissa Eiffe, Rachel Gein, Kelly Smith and Julie Strunk. Well done on the effort!
Move to Tonsley
We’d like to wish staff and students of CSEM a smooth transition to their new building at Tonsley. We look forward to working with staff in the new premises next year.
