The Medical Device Research Institute (MDRI) is a network of researchers, highly skilled in the development and application of a diverse range of medical technologies. This collaborative approach to the research for innovative solutions and services makes the Institute ideal as a single site for product development and testing - taking projects from fundamental concepts right through to preliminary clinical trialing.
The Institute includes more than eighty researchers and clinicians from Flinders University, Flinders Medical Centre and the Repatriation General Hospital, and has been selected to represent one of Flinders University's key research capabilities.
We collaborate in research, development, application and commercialisation of medical devices and technologies to benefit the community.
Expertise of the group includes:
- Assistive technology and rehabilitation engineering
- Biomechanics and implants
- Computational biomechanics
- Devices, sensors and signals
- Health informatics
- Medical image analysis
