The Molecular Technologies Research Cluster is an areas of research investment in which Flinders University has considerable research strength, and where we have identified external opportunities for collaboration and partnership.

The goal of the Molecular Technologies Research Cluster is to promote internal and external multidisciplinary collaboration contributing to Australia's National research priorities in the areas of:

Environmental Sustainability   Health   Advanced Materials & Technologies Security - Detection Devices

Consisting of over 200 researchers (including 40 Research Leaders) from the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Molecular Technologies Research Cluster research areas include the disciplines of:

Combining fundamental knowledge generation with applied (i.e. industry focused) research, the Molecular Technologies Research Cluster unites extensive and diverse capabilities across many research disciplines within Flinders University, taking a comprehensive approach to problem solving in order to provide the best sustainable solution.

The Molecular Technologies Research Cluster also contains a number of externally recognised larger research groupings, including:

These groups contain researchers mainly from the Molecular Technologies Research Cluster, but also have researchers from and/or close collaborations with DSTO, SARDI, CSIRO and the Australian Federal Police.
