The Centre has unique expertise & infrastructure for surface deposition and characterisation. State of the art systems for profiling the chemical makeup of surfaces to varying depths include Metastable Induced Electron Spectroscopy, Neutral Impact Collision Ion Scattering Spectroscopy, and the Scanning Auger Nanoprobe. These techniques are complemented by Raman Spectroscopy and SEM. We have Atomic Force Microscopes for surface topography analysis, polymer characterisation facilities, and Potentiostats for Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy of membranes and other surfaces.
