National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), Japan

NIMS is on of the world’s leading nanotechnology research centre located in Tsukuba, Japan. In 2011 NIMS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Flinders University for collaborative research in Nanotechnology. Since then Research Leaders have been working with NIMS Professors and 2012 saw the first two PhD students spend six months working alongside researchers at the Japanese Institute.

Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research

At the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research located in Mainz, Germany, more than 500 international scientists and technicians perform basic research on polymers and their chemical and physical properties.

The CNST offers PhD students the opportunity to study at MPI in Germany for a period of 3-6months. 2013 will see the first two PhD students travel to Germany to undertake research at MPI.

Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)

The CNST welcomes 10 undergraduate students from UKM to the Centre every year. This collaboration also includes a joint Masters programme in Nanotechnology and the potential for Malaysian PhD students to study at CNST.

This linkage is further enhanced through the short course delivered at UKM by CNST Research Leaders.
