Flinders Centre for Science Education in the 21st Century

Our Centre's work supports quality teaching and innovation in science and mathematics education.  It does this by focussing on two related branches of study: the learning of science and the science of learning.  Find out more about these fields in the videos below.

We have recently expanded our work to include the investigation of how to increase the impact of science - both scientific knowledge and scientific thinking - in governments, in business and industry, in communities and in homes.  These studies involve research into and the teaching of science policy and communication.

The Centre runs many projects and activities, always working closely with practitioners and leaders in education, science and policy.

Science of Learning Seminars

Through this new seminar series, international and Australian researchers will present their latest research on how we learn. The Science of Learning is an emerging interdisciplinary field interested in how we acquire and develop knowledge. Our goal is to engage researchers, policy makers and lead educators from Adelaide with the latest research in the field.

Each seminar we will be providing a free taste of South Australia including a range of wine, cheese and chocolate.
