Welcome to the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Flinders University.
Science and engineering are critical in helping maintain and improve standards of health and living across the globe, and in understanding and working to resolve some of the world's most complex and pressing problems - challenges we all face such as climate change, population pressures, food security, environmental contamination.
Here in Science and Engineering at Flinders, we make important contributions to the development of knowledge in science and engineering:
- through the work of our leading researchers in areas which include: groundwater hydrology, forensic and environmental science, and the invention of medical devices and technologies; and
- through innovative teaching, which combines up to date knowledge with practical and problem solving skills and work-related learning, to ensure our graduates are well equipped for work and further research and study.
The Faculty of Science and Engineering at Flinders is made up of four Schools:
We host leading centres including the National Centre for Groundwater Research and Training (NCGRT) and the Flinders Centre for Science Education in the 21st Century, and collaborations such as the Science and Mathematics Academy at Flinders which brings high school students on-campus to study Year 12 chemistry, physics and mathematics.
Scientists and engineers are curious, open-minded people, we like to explore how things work and why. You've arrived at our website so no doubt you're curious too. We invite you to explore our web pages where, whatever your interests, you'll find information to help guide your study choices, further your research goals, or put you in touch with someone who might help you develop your business.
