Unique in AustraliaSpeech Pathology and Audiology of Flinders University is amalgamated with the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology at Flinders Medical Centre. This combined group provides clinical services, teaching and research. This is unique in Australia and allows us to provide students with an outstanding learning environment. Students are able to visit patients in the medical wards, as well as participate in many of the outpatient services offered in the hospital. The Master of Audiology is the only problem based learning curriculum in audiology in Australia and our Masters of Speech Pathology is one of only two programs in Australia that has a graduate entry and a Problem Based Learning curriculum.

Small Class Sizes
There are approximately 50 students in each year of the Bachelor of Speech Pathology, up to 20 students per annum in the Master of Audiology and the Master of Speech Pathology. This small class size enables students and staff to get to know each other, and privides a friendly supportive learning environment. Students from the country and from overseas find that this helps them to settle in as they quickly get to know the staff and their classmates.
High levels of employment for graduates suggests that both speech pathology and audiology graduates have little difficulty finding work in Australia and overseas.
Excellent Career Opportunities
Graduates of Flinders University Speech Pathology and Audiology programs have obtained work in areas of health and education throughout Australia and internationally (including New Zealand, Singapore, Greece, South Africa, Canada, and the United Kingdom).
The Careers Office provides detailed information about job opportunities and starting salaries for speech pathologists. Audiologists working in the public sector earn similar salaries. Both speech pathologists and audiologists can earn higher salaries in private practice.
