Christine Brebner

BAppSc(Speech Path) Flinders University

Chris is a Lecturer in Speech Pathology. She teaches within the Masters of Speech Pathology programme and is Topic Co-ordinator for the Speech Pathology Skills and Practice topics. She is also a Clinical Educator, working with groups of students on clinical placements with children. Recent student clinics have included "Language for Literacy programmes" in primary schools and the Auditory Processing Disorders Clinic (CanDo4Kids Townsend House).

Completing her degree in Speech Pathology at Flinders University in 1991, Chris has worked in Australia, the U.K. & Singapore. At present she is completing her PhD, looking at the acquisition of Singapore Colloquial English and Singapore Standard English for preschool Chinese Singaporean children. In 2002 she published the Singapore English Action Picture Test, the first test specifically designed for use in Singapore.

Her areas of interest are language impairments in children, specifically children from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, working with children with special educational needs and clinical education for Speech Pathology students.
