Jane Bickford

BAppSc(SpPath) Flinders

Jane is a Lecturer in Speech Pathology. She teaches within the Masters and Bachelor of Speech Pathology programmes. She is also a Clinical Educator, working with groups of students on clinical placements with children and adults with feeding, swallowing, voice or acquired communication difficulties. Recent student clinics have included clinical skills tutorials for dysphagia, the University Voice Clinic and adult block clinical placements for Flinders Medical Centre (FMC). 

Completing her degree in Speech Pathology at Flinders University in 1994, Jane has worked in Australia and the U.K. She recently was Senior Speech Pathologist for Flinders Medical Centre specialising in voice, head and neck services and acute  dysphagia. She was also involved jointly running the Laryngology Clinic with the Department of Ear Nose and Throat Surgery at FMC. Jane has been credentialed by FMC to use nasendoscopy to examine a person’s swallowing status.

She is looking forward developing some research interests in infant feeding, voice dysfunction and clinical education for Speech Pathology students.
