WHY BRANDING IS IMPORTANT TO FLINDERS
Every time Flinders University comes in contact with someone from the wider community, we are presented with an opportunity to enhance our reputation.
The extent to which audiences across the educational, research, international, government, business and community spheres value and respond to the Flinders brand is dependent upon visual recognition of Flinders and on how clearly they understand and interpret our brand position and key messages.
Crucial to the success of our audiences understanding of who we are and what we stand for is the development and maintenance of a strong and integrated visual identity.
In recent months, with our new advertising agency, we have undertaken a comprehensive re-branding exercise to provide the University with a refreshed and contemporary identity that promotes Flinders as (to use their words) "a confident and approachable university that delivers excellence in teaching and research."
As a result, the components that visually brand the University have been updated to introduce a stronger, more defined logo, a new tagline which reads 'inspiring achievement', and a revitalised corporate colour scheme, the application and use of which is defined in the Flinders University Visual Style Guide.
Our new visual identity relies heavily on these guidelines being followed across the University, especially in the use of key elements such as the logo, typeface, colour, style and adherence to the stationery template standards. The guidelines will be updated as new suites of materials are developed.
The Marketing and Communications Office is responsible for the management of the visual identity of Flinders University.
