Awards and Grants |

This website introduces the Vice-chancellor's Award
for Excellence in Teaching award which aims to recognise
and promote teaching excellence through the university.
The award is presented to teaching teams and individual
academic staff. The site includes information regarding
selection criteria, applying for awards and showcases
previous winners. It also provides a link to the Teaching
Innovations Grants Award, an institution-wide internal
funding scheme for new developments in teaching and

Work Inegrated Learning |

The focus of this project is the practicum
or 'off campus' placements in work contexts that occur
as part of a university course. This site is an archive
of the Practicum Project conducted at Flinders. The
project included the following areas:
- Four separate forums with different faculties around
the university were held to highlight the specific
practicum issues faced in each area.
- An audit of practicum program's at Flinders University
has been conducted to highlight best practice and
issues of risk to students that may occur in the
work place.
- A resource collection of practicum related journal
articles and literature has been set up.

The Unit has developed an extensive Resource
Collection with over 1000 items including books,
journals, videos and computer tutorials, which
staff can borrow. Many of these are now held
by
the Central library and it is now possible to
browse through the collection online via the Voyager
search facility.

Demonstrating

to increase laboratory teaching skills, in order to
make demonstrating a stimulating and productive experience
for both demonstrator and students taking the class.

Foundations
for University Teaching website |

Many universities have structured programs that focus
on developing academics' capacity to teach effectively
and design education programs.
The intention of this
website is to help establish a network for those who
develop and organise institutional Foundations of University
Teaching programs so they can:
- enable program coordinators to engage in constructive
collaboration
- share innovations
- canvass common challenges and diverse features
- conceptualise a pedagogy of learning to teach in
higher education.
