Unlocking their potential? Teaching awards in Australian higher education

Mark has a degree in law and postgraduate qualifications in sociology, criminology and education from Oxford, Cambridge and Flinders Universities respectively. He has published over 50 books, book chapters and journal articles in the areas of higher education and research policy, research ethics, political exile and migration, criminology and socio-legal studies.

He recently completed a Teaching Fellowship with the Australian Learning and Teaching Council undertaking research on the national teaching awards in Australia. The work investigated the extent to which recipients and their institutions have been able to and might best take advantage of their award. Background reading: The key to the door?
