A number of Australian Universities have established initiatives; established policies or developed resources to support academic staff working with First Year students. Pages that are specifically aimed at first year students are not included here as a number of them link from the edna site.

Auckland University of Technology has had its First Year Experience Intervention and Support Programme recognised by the Australian University Quality Agency as an example of Good Practice.

Charles Darwin University has initiated a Student Experience Project to assess and improve the student learning experience. This includes the 1st Year experience which identifies what students have said, the implications of these comments for teaching and a range of reflective questions for academic staff to consider.

Deakin University has a First Year at Deakin - Operational Policy which indicates that a coordinated approach is taken to first year students across the University. The Policy states that the "approach will promote multi-disciplinary collaborative planning and implementation of academic and social transition/orientation programs for students beginning studies at Deakin".

Queensland University of Technology has developed a First Year Experience program which seeks input from a key academic and professional staff across the university.

University of Queensland established a First Year experience working party that have  developed a series of initiatives that have a student-centred approach.
