Planning and quality

Flinders has a range of processes across its major areas of activity to ensure the quality of its education, research, international activities, community engagement programs and other activities, including support services.

The main elements of our strategic planning and quality assurance framework are described in Flinders Way (PDF 408KB) , which explains how these elements contribute to a culture of continuous self-evaluation, review and improvement.

Education goals

Our education goals, as outlined in Flinders Way, are to:

1. Be a leader in providing quality programs.
2. Provide leadership in the provision of programs relevant to all stakeholders.
3. Be a leader in fostering a student-focused approach to education.

Policy framework

Flinders University has a comprehensive framework of policies governing education matters.

Other key policies include:

• policies on course development, management and review, and evaluation of teaching
  
• student related policies and procedures
  
• policies on academic staff employment and performance (complemented by provisions in the Flinders University Enterprise Agreement).

• Course Experience Questionairre (CEQ) data and questionnaires
• Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET)
  
• Institution Assessment Framework (IAF) (previously known as Educational Profiles).
