Sessionally employed teachers are entitled to participate in any of the workshops offered by the Staff Training and Development Unit, including:

  • group management skills
  • demonstrating and explaining
  • managing tutorials
  • managing difficult situations
  • assessing student learning.

Refer to the calendar of events to see what workshops are on offer and to enrol online.

Support

Flinders Learning Online for sessional staff (FLOSS) is an online resource where you can access readings and other information. It also provides and avenue to communicate with other sessional staff and/or members of the academic development team.

You can also arrange a meeting with an academic developer to discuss your specific needs. This could involve dealing with classroom issues, grading, clinical supervision or lab demonstration. Email the Staff Development and Training Unit to arrange an appointment.
