Topic description
This topic is designed to provide Drama Centre students with experience in theatre, television and film production. All students are required to take part in a major production.Note: Contact hours will vary depending on rehearsal and performance schedules. Please contact topic coordinator for timetable details.
Educational aims
This topic aims to:
- extend students' understanding of professional rehearsal techniques and practice
- provide students with the opportunity to apply their performance techniques to a fully staged production
- develop students' ensemble skills
- develop students' skills as conceptual as well as an interpretive artists by developing and staging a self-devised work
- develop students' theatrical imagination in terms of image and stage picture
Expected learning outcomes
Upon completing this topic students will:
- be able to demonstrate professional rehearsal techniques and practice
- be able to show that they have improved their ability to work within an ensemble context
- demonstrate a better capacity to enunciate and evaluate ideas in a group situation in a spirit of goodwill and creativity
- able to demonstrate that they are able to convey in performance mode more complex intellectual and/or emotional ideas to an audience that extend on the work achieved in DRAP1020
