^ DRAP7010A - Performance Techniques 4 (Part 1)

Building on the skills acquired in Performance Techniques 1, 2 and 3, students continue classes in music repertoire, movement and acting for theatre and screen. In addition, the topic introduces students to a variety of international experimental performance techniques in theatre, performance art, video art and computer performance. All students attend 'survival skills' classes with visiting artists and administrators.

This topic aims to:

refine the skills necessary for the students' eventual employment as actors and directors in the theatre, television, and film industries
encourage all students to work as both interpretive and conceptual artists
provide the survival skills necessary for work in a highly competitive industry
further develop the conceptual understanding required by directors and actors working within live performance, television, and film

Upon completing this topic student will have:

developed the conceptual and interpretive skills necessary for producing and promoting original work
applied their performance skills to variety of employment contexts
understood employment structures in the television, film, and theatre industries
understood funding processes and grant bodies relevant to the performing arts
