Topic description
This topic aims to provide a context for students to develop and extend their research and writing skills in both academic and applied industry contexts. The topic is built around a student led collaborative research project organised around a cluster of thematic issues of global significance, such as environment, community development, human rights, peace and conflict and aid effectiveness. The collaborative project is designed to provide opportunities for direct engagement with practitioner constituencies through industry expert input. It will demonstrate the students' industry-ready ability to apply skills in workplace collaborative environments. Through a series of applied workshops students will gain skills in applying a range of analytical research tools to real world situations, culminating in the production of a collaborative position paper. The topic supports both course work students and those engaged in the preparation of a minor thesis.
