Must Satisfy: (1 and (2 or 2a))

Students are required to undertake placements either 5 days 0-3 times per semester or up to 75 hours

This topic helps to prepare students for entry into the teaching profession. Students will be placed for three one-week blocks or a minimum of 75 hours during their second year professional experiences. They will observe and work alongside registered teachers.

The aims of this topic are to:

understand the complex work of the teacher
observe and learn from practising teachers how to effectively interact with children
undertake some of the tasks of the teacher under the supervision and direction of a practicing teacher

On completion of this topic students will have:

observed practising teachers at work and begun to develop an understanding of the complex work and roles of the teacher
practised interacting with children as a beginning professional
worked alongside a teacher and at their direction undertaken some supportive tasks
