Topic description
This topic introduces students to numeracy as a life skill that is important for living in the contemporary world. Students begin by exploring the difference between numeracy and mathematics and by making connections across all areas of the curriculum and to the world beyond the classroom. Students investigate the role of information communication technology as a tool to enhance learning and examine current research, theories and practice. Students evaluate a range of useful ICT.
Educational aims
This topic aims to:

  • give students the knowledge, confidence and pedagogical skills to integrate numeracy activities across the curriculum

  • introduce students to effective ways to use ICT to enhance learning
