Topic description
This topic is designed to allow students to work with their supervisor in researching the literature around their chosen field of study. Students will be provided with skills to carry out a review of literature and methods of presenting their information in written form.
Educational aims
The aims of this topic for the student are to:
- develop a comprehensive understanding of the literature underpinning the student's field of research
- understand the most appropriate form of literature review process to use in accordance to the student's field of research
- understand the importance of literature to the research process
Expected learning outcomes
The students will:
- undertake a review of relevant literature
- identify key themes and gaps in the literature in the student's field of research
- present relevant literature in a coherent and cohesive manner
