Topic description
The topic aims to introduce students to critically important skill sets for environmental management. The topic covers environmental project planning and management, environmental reporting (environmental management systems, environmental audit, state of the environment), environmental site assessment and environmental management plans.
Educational aims
The topic aims to provide students with information for them to gain knowledge and develop their skills in project management and preparation of environmental management plans or reports typical of environmental managers in the workforce
Expected learning outcomes
At the completion of this topic, students are expected to be able to:

  1. Understand the importance, role and application of project management skills
  2. Identify different forms of environmental reporting
  3. Investigate an environmental problem using a multidisciplinary approach
  4. Produce an environmental management plan or report
