Topic description
Educational aims
This topic aims to:
- develop critical analysis of the approaches that inform classroom methodology
- investigate and analyse creative planning of classroom learning experiences
- examine the synthesis between learner motivation and successful learning outcomes
- develop skills for the critical analysis of methodologies as used in TESOL
- promote a reflective approach to practice
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students will be able to:
- demonstrate mastery in planning and implementing strategies for successful language learning, and the evaluation of their effectiveness
- investigate and analyse issues relating to positive classroom experiences, and apply different theories and practices to facilitate learning
- evaluate established methodologies of classroom practice, and apply them to the design of their own classroom practice
