Topic description
This topic continues the study of the basic essentials of French and aims to develop further the students' proficiency in both written and spoken French. Use of the computer and audio facilities is a required component of this topic.
Educational aims
This topic aims to:

  • give students an intense introduction to the sounds, structures and vocabulary of modern standard French

  • expose students to further social and cultural aspects of the French speaking world

  • develop students' writing skills on everyday topics

  • further develop students' language learning skills and strategies
Expected learning outcomes
On completing this topic, students will be able to:

  • actively read, write, and speak using simple French, with few grammatical or lexical errors
