Topic description
In this topic, students consider issues relating to French history, culture and society as illustrated in a selection of authentic written, aural and/or visual texts. The focus of the topic will be based on staff availability and will different to that offered in FREN2211.
Educational aims
This topic aims to:
- expose students to past and contemporary cultural and societal issues
- enhance students' ability to understand and discuss a range of texts
- develop critical and analytical skills through the study of French texts
Expected learning outcomes
On completing this topic, students will be able to:
- read and discuss authentic written, aural and/or visual texts of moderate difficulty
- identify and discuss socio-cultural issues and use them for the interpretation and comparison of texts
