Topic description
This topic provides a theoretical and practical framework for students to undertake and teach ethical case analysis to trainees in their own clinical setting.

The topic begins with a consideration of what ethics is, and what counts as a moral problem, then introduces ethical concepts, theories and language. Participants will consider arguments and perspectives relevant to ethical analysis, with examples drawn from the health sector and their own clinical experience. Participants are required to submit an ethical case analysis, and to develop a teaching plan for teaching a specific issue or topic that is relevant to their area of practice, eg resource allocation in primary care or research ethics.

This topic is offered online and students are strongly encouraged to attend a 2 day intensive workshop.
