Topic description
This topic introduces Indonesian to existing teachers, and no previous knowledge of Indonesian is assumed. It provides basic communication skills in Indonesian, and introduces students to aspects of modern Indonesian social, cultural and political life.
Educational aims
This topic aims to:
- provide an introduction to spoken and written Indonesian for teachers
- provide students with a basic Indonesian vocabulary
- assist students in recognising and developing language learning skills
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students will be able to:
- perform in a limited capacity within the most immediate, predictable areas of need
- communicate in basic, predicable scenarios using simple, formulaic expressions, and responding to everyday enquiries
