Topic description
This topic consolidates and develops skills acquired in INDO8101. Students' abilities in the four macro-areas of speaking, listening, reading and writing will be extended. Further areas of Indonesian social, cultural and political life will be introduced.
Educational aims
This topic aims to:

  • develop acquired skills in spoken and written Indonesian

  • increase students’ abilities in the four macro-areas of speaking listening, reading and writing

  • provide students will an increased range of communicative social skills
Expected learning outcomes
On successful completion of this topic students should be able to:

  • demonstrate the conventions of Indonesian pronunciation

  • conduct simple conversations on a range of everyday social and practical topics

  • understand and respond to spoken instructions in social situations

  • understand uncomplicated written passages

  • produce short pieces of writing, including paragraph-length descriptions

  • demonstrate the ability to use introductory grammar principles.
