Topic description
This topic is designed to develop further the students' proficiency in the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Classes will cover features of the Italian language, particularly syntax and stylistics, appropriate to this level. Students will use and produce a range of complex texts in Italian.
Educational aims
This topic aims to:

  • develop further learners' knowledge of Italian grammatical structures and vocabulary acquired through their studies

  • further enhance the students' communicative competence through participation in activities involving exposure to a variety of media and group or pair interaction
Expected learning outcomes
On completing this topic students should be able to:

  • identify the main points of clear standard speech in Italian

  • communicate in speech and writing on a range of familiar topics, using moderately complex language to produce simple connected texts without preparation

  • recognise, reproduce and describe grammatical, syntactical, lexical and phonetic structures acquired throughout the semester
