Course context
To be eligible to undertake this topic, students must have a GPA of at least 5.7 and also be in their last 36 units of degree.
Topic description
Students will engage in sustained advanced research and produce a 13,000 word dissertation under supervision on an approved topic.
Educational aims
The aims of this topic are to:

  • provide students with the opportunity to engage in sustained and advanced research and writing

  • better prepare students for research higher degrees
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students will be able to demonstrate:

  • advanced research skills

  • advanced capacity to analyse legal issues

  • the ability to work independently on a large project

  • capacity to write effectively
