Topic description
This topic is designed to strengthen and extend the students' proficiency in the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Classes will cover advanced features of the Modern Greek language, particularly syntax and stylistics, appropriate with this level.
Educational aims
This topic aims to:

  • develop learners' knowledge and ability to use complex grammatical structures and vocabulary in Modern Greek

  • enhance the students' communicative competence through participation in activities involving exposure to different kinds of media and group or pair interaction

  • expose students to independent and collaborative learning and to language learning skill development
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students will be able to:

  • identify the main points of clear standard speech in Modern Greek

  • communicate in speech and writing on a range of familiar topics, using moderately complex language to produce simple connected texts

  • recognise, reproduce and describe grammatical, syntactical, lexical and phonetic structures acquired throughout the semester
