Topic description
This topic offers Bachelor of Languages students possibilities to extend previous knowledge in the field of Modern Greek studies (language and/or culture). Students may be required to undertake a class project or an independent study on a topic to be negotiated with the topic coordinator, depending on staff availability.
Educational aims
The topic aims to:

  • provide advanced practical language training in Modern Greek, according to the level of entry chosen

  • expose students to a body of knowledge relative to linguistic and/or cultural aspects of Modern Greek studies through coursework or through a supervised study project

  • develop students' linguistic, analytical and critical skills through the production of a detailed report on a defined area of Modern Greek studies, when applicable
Expected learning outcomes
Upon completion of the topic, students will be able to demonstrate:

  • an advanced level of proficiency in any of the four macro language skills

  • a broad knowledge of linguistic and/or socio-cultural aspects of Modern Greek studies according to the area of specialisation chosen

  • reporting skills relative to a defined area of Modern Greek Studies
