This topic will provide students with an understanding of the general physiological principles that underpin most disease processes and a more detailed knowledge in a range of specific human diseases.
Expected learning outcomes
On successful completion of this topic students will be able to:

  • outline the basic physiological processes that underpin most human diseases.

  • explain how pathological changes in specific human organs affect the normal physiology of that organ and the implications for the whole body system.

  • show basic skills of histological and microscopic examination.
