This topic will provide students with an understanding of the general physiological principles that underpin most disease processes and a more detailed background in a range of specific human diseases. In each case, the pathophysiology will be highlighted

This topic will provide students with an understanding of the general physiological principles that underpin most disease processes and a more detailed knowledge in a range of specific human diseases.
Expected learning outcomes
On successful completion of this topic students will be able to:
- outline the basic physiological processes that underpin most human diseases.
- explain how pathological changes in specific human organs affect the normal physiology of that organ and the implications for the whole body system.
- show basic skills of histological and microscopic examination.
