Assignments; Placement

In this topic students will develop knowledge and skills for application in a range of primary health care nursing environments. They will also have the opportunity to observe primary health care nursing practice in a clinical venue.

The aims for this topic are for students to develop their knowledge and skills for application in a range of primary health care nursing environments.

On successful completion of this topic students will be able to:

apply a number of major concepts and theories to primary health care nursing practice
conduct a focused health assessment
determine and implement evidence based primary health care nursing interventions
identify what constitutes effective multi-disciplinary team-work and management of clients in primary health care settings
articulate the way in which the nursing practices in their country of origin compare to those in an Australian primary health care nursing setting
