Topic description
In this topic students will have the opportunity to develop clinical competency in the specialist area of paediatric nursing across a variety of clinical settings. They will also explore contemporary constructs for professional role development in this specialist area.
Educational aims
The aim of this topic is to enable students to develop and demonstrate specialised knowledge, skills and attributes required to practice in the specialist area of paediatric nursing in a variety of clinical settings.
Expected learning outcomes
On successful completion of this topic students will be able to:

  • Reflect on and critique practice for professional role development in paediatric nursing

  • Demonstrate competency in a range of paediatric health assessments

  • Demonstrate competency against designated paediatric standards of clinical practice.
