This topic is designed to allow the student to integrate all previous learning and achieve the graduate attributes of the degree. Students will be well prepared to meet the challenges of a career in pre-hospital care and will enter internships with ambulance services with confidence.

This topic is aimed at providing the student with an integration of all the paramedic related skills, knowledge and attitudes, in order to enable them to graduate with confidence and a thorough grounding in paramedic practice in preparation for their internship. Specifically, the topic aims to develop competency in pre-hospital emergency patient care, effective scene management and leadership skills. The topic will also acquaint the students with the knowledge of legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines that are typically applicable to working in the pre-hospital service industry.

At the completion of this topic it is intended that the participants will be able to:

Demonstrate the recommended qualities and attributes associated with the paramedic degree graduate
Demonstrate comprehensive skills in the evaluation of; the environment, the setting and the patient
Demonstrate the safe and proficient execution of appropriate clinical skills
Incorporate the knowledge from all pre-requisite curriculums and apply to the clinical decision
Critically evaluate the existing evidence that underpins current paramedic practice
