Topic description
This topic provides students with an opportunity to develop knowledge of leadership theories and approaches,identify their own leadership approach and recognise how leadership is critical to change in public health.
Educational aims
The aim of this topic is to develop and deepen students knowledge of leadership theory and practice, their personal leadership style and that of others around them.
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students will be able to:
- Understand, identify and explain key leadership theories and approaches
- Identify their own definition of leadership and compare and contrast this with key leadership theories and approaches
- Explicate how to develop and enhance their own leadership style as advocates for health
