The Master of Occuaptional Therapy and Master of Physiotherapy have a number of pre-requisites for admission, and students must demonstrate a level of academic achievement in the areas of Physiology, Anatomy, Communication, Research Methods, and Social Perspectives in Health before being admitted to the course. These admission requirements form the basis of all assumed knowledge in the course.

Reflective assignment (60%); team presentation (40%).

This topic will enable students to gain an understanding of the core aspects of team work in collaborative practice across settings with a particular emphasis on rural and remote practice scenarios.

The aim of this topic is to introduce students to team work using applied examples from clinical practice, including rural and remote heath practice incorporating related concepts such as collaborative practice, primary health, health promotion, chronic disease management and case management. Culturally sensitive practice will be examined particularly in the context of interacting with Indigenous Australians.

On completion of this topic, student's will be able to:

1. Describe the benefits and challenges of interprofessional practice and teamwork in health care in relation to client-centred case scenarios.

2. Reflect on the application of concepts of collaborative practice in a variety of settings, with a particular focus on rural and remote practice.

3. Describe the relevant demographic, political, societal and epidemiological factors related to rural and remote health.

4. Describe and apply culturally sensitive practice particularly in reference to working with Indigenous Australians.

5. Apply theories related to health behaviour change within case scenarios.
