Topic description
This topic allows students to conduct research in an area of special interest and to further develop their knowledge of health research. In this topic students will implement the strategies learnt from Research Methods. Supervision and support will be arranged in negotiation with the topic coordinator.
Educational aims
This topic will allow students to develop and implement a research or evaluation study relating to remote and Indigenous health. It facilitates the synthesis of knowledge gained during the masters program into a single piece of supervised research, culminating in a journal article ready for publication that contributes to the body of knowledge about remote and Indigenous Health. This topic builds on REMH9022 Research and Evaluation for Remote and Indigenous health, whereby students can demonstrate the acquisition of skills and knowledge in designing and conducting research or evaluation relating to remote and Indigenous health.
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of the topic, students will be able to:

  • Collect, interpret and analyse research data or evaluation data relating to remote and Indigenous health

  • Critically relate findings from research or evaluation study relating to remote and Indigenous health in relation to relevant theory

  • Effectively communicate the research or evaluation in the form of a journal article ready for publication that can contribute to the body of knowledge about remote and Indigenous Health, and the interprofessional discipline of remote health.
