Topic description
In this topic students will further develop production skills in camera and lighting, sound recording and editing, and will be introduced to sound post-production. Students will be introduced to producing and production organisation, as well as working with actors and camera coverage of theatrical or live production.
Educational aims
This topic aims to:

  • allow students to build on production skills including: producing, camera and lighting, editing, sound recording, and sound post-production
  • provide students with opportunities to work with actors and develop skills in screen coverage for a theatrical production
  • introduce students to sound post-production
  • provide students with opportunities to develop screen production skills through group activities and assignments
  • provide students with opportunities to collaborate creatively and problem solve with their peers
  • give students an overall awareness of the production and post-production process
Expected learning outcomes
On completing this topic students will be able to:

  • demonstrate further development in camera and lighting, sound recording and editing

  • demonstrate a working knowledge of the production and post-production processes and protocols

  • demonstrate an understanding of producing and production organisation
