Topic description
In this topic students will build on, and expand, their understanding of digital principles of both design and production. Practical exercises and projects will allow students to revisit existing skills while building new ones.
Educational aims
This topic aims to allow students to:

  • Become aware of a range of technical and design options, contributing to digital design

  • Demonstrate their ability to use original works in unique deigns
  • Obtain awareness of the necessary pre-production documentation, to guide digital production
  • Be aware of design principles and production processes in digital pipelines
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students will be able to:

  • Analyse art works using existing theoretical principles
  • Compare different art styles with a level of confidence
  • Define core principles of design
  • Locate works within historical contexts
