Topic description
This topic provides students with the opportunity to develop research and pre-production skills as a producer/director or craft specialist for a major project short fiction or non-fiction screen work.
Educational aims
This topic aims to further develop:

  • the ability to research and communicate creative production concepts skills in the production of screen projects

  • skills in planning for screen projects, and the completion of required documentation
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students will be able to:

  • communicate and transmit ideas about their work to peers, industry and the broader community both verbally and in writing

  • demonstrate research skills and methodology in devising a major screen project

  • demonstrate specialised creative and technical skills required in pre-production of a major screen project

  • generate production documentation (budget, risk assessment, schedule, crew, cast and location agreements) required for a major project short fiction or non-fiction screen work.
